It doesn’t to me. Possibly some people do treat life like a chess game, but in my opinion things aren’t really like that.

Life is more like a game of poker, You got to know when to hold them and know when to fold them. You can’t expect to always win the game, but by losing, that opens many strategies to winning (like learning a lesson on how to be better), but losing is not always the worse possibility.
more on your topic:
I believe that if life was a chess game then we would control the pieces because no other being can make an action, but in some since, some things happen no mater how hard you try to stop them.

Life should not be strategic. Everything happens for a reason, and there is no predetermined destiny behind it all.
I suppose if you are an analytical thinker, it would make more sense to see life as a chess game. But if you think of life as a chess game, you have to wonder what the ‘meaning’ in playing the game is-what is capturing the King symbolic to?

The delusions to which we all fall victim are controlling the pieces. The people at the helm are only there because they lied, or because they act upon the delusions of those who let them be at the helm.
